InnoDB is a MySQL storage engine, which has been gaining popularity in recent years, as it offers a better overall performance and a faster database failure recovery in comparison with the default engine used by the MySQL database management system – MyISAM. InnoDB is endorsed by numerous web developers that create highly scalable software apps, since it works much more efficiently with enormous data volumes, while it keeps the server load low. Furthermore, it uses row-level locking in case any info should be modified, while many other engines lock the entire database table and hence require more time to handle multiple consecutive tasks. In addition, we’ll also generate regular backups of all the MySQL databases that you have in the shared hosting account, so in case you delete or overwrite anything, we can quickly get it back to the way it was on any of the past seven days.

InnoDB in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you create a new MySQL database through the hosting Control Panel included with each of our semi-dedicated server plans and you begin installing a script-driven software app either manually or using our one-click application installer, the storage engine for the database will be selected automatically depending on the prerequisites of the particular application. Since InnoDB is available on the cloud platform where your new semi-dedicated account will be set up, it will be set as the default engine for any application that requires it without any manual action required on your end at any moment. To prevent any risk of losing information if you update an application or if you erase a database accidentally, we will perform backups of all your MySQL databases every day, so if something happens, we can restore your data.

InnoDB in VPS Servers

If you choose a VPS server with our Hepsia Control Panel, the InnoDB storage engine will be an integral part of the standard software pack that will be pre-installed on your VPS server before we give it to you. You will not have to activate anything manually and you will be able to enable and use any PHP-powered web app that requires InnoDB as soon as your VPS is set up, which takes no more than 1 hour after the order submission process itself. A number of engines are available, so whenever you create a database using the Hepsia Control Panel, a particular engine will be activated when the app installation process begins and our system will detect which engine is required by the application in question. In case you need MyISAM, for instance, you will not need to do anything different from installing the application of your preference, whether manually or using our application installer tool.

InnoDB in Dedicated Servers

All dedicated web hosting plans ordered with our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel include a software package that is pre-activated and besides everything else, you’ll get the InnoDB storage engine, so you won’t have to install it manually in case you’d like to activate open-source scripts that need it. All it takes to run such a script is to set up a new database and to start the installation – once the setup wizard gains access to the database in question and begins dumping content in it, InnoDB will be set as the default engine for this database provided that it is the one required by the particular script. You’ll also be able to use scripts that need the other very popular MySQL engine, MyISAM, so you won’t need to edit any settings on the dedicated server. This will allow you to activate different scripts on a single server and to use it to its full capacity.
